A CryoFacial is a stream of cold air across your face and neck. The cold tightens your skin in the moment, and a course of sessions brings the change that lasts.
There is nothing to plan around afterwards. That is why some people book one before an evening out.
What does the cold do to your skin?
Right away, the cold tightens your skin, and that effect fades.
Cold makes the small blood vessels in your skin narrow, which eases puffiness for a while. Cleveland Clinic gives this reason for laying a cold, wet washcloth over puffy eyes. It calls that kind of relief temporary.
Over a course of sessions, the aim is to push the skin to build more collagen. Collagen is a protein that gives skin its structure and strength, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Is there good research on cold air facials?
Not much, and you should know that before you book. The studies we found look at whole body cold chambers, a different treatment from a stream of cold air on your face. So we point people to their own progress photos instead.
What does a CryoFacial feel like?
Cold and bracing, and most people like it. Each session is short, and nothing goes into your skin.
Afterwards there are no marks and nothing to recover from, so you can go straight back to work.
What do people come in for?
These are the reasons people book a CryoFacial with us.
- Skin that has lost its firmness.
- Dullness and uneven tone.
- Puffiness, especially around the eyes.
- Fine lines.
- Supporting whatever their skincare is already doing.
What will a CryoFacial not do?
- A CryoFacial is not a filler or a needle treatment, and it will not do what those do. We do not offer either of them.
- One session will not give you a lasting change, since the tightening you see straight afterwards fades.
- Some eye bags come from your genes or the shape of the bones around your eyes, according to Cleveland Clinic. It says those can be hard to fully correct without medical treatment. Ask about yours at your intro visit.
How many sessions does it take?
Start with a course, then come back now and then to maintain the change. At your intro visit, we suggest a number.
Two neck and jawline sets are in our before and after photos, one after four sessions and one after six. We take each pair in the same light, from the same angle, with no retouching.
Each person starts from a different place, and so two people can see different results after the same number of sessions.
What do clients notice after a CryoFacial?
Angela Pinnick wrote about her skin. “I have had the best results with the cryo facials. I’m complimented on my skin constantly.”
Ahhlam Dahaba wrote about how we explained the process. “I had gotten cryotherapy treatment done for my face to address my issues. Rita is a very kind and sweet individual to work with. She is very thorough with explaining how the process works.”
Fitting a CryoFacial into your week
Our studio is on Old Olive Street Road in Creve Coeur, just off Olive at I-270, with parking right outside. Most of our clients drive in from around west county.
We are open Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Saturday and Sunday we are closed.
Plenty of people add a CryoFacial to the end of a body session, which saves a second trip.
What to do next
If your skin looks dull or puffy, or it has lost some firmness, plan on a course of sessions. Judge it by your progress photos at the end of the course.
Our page on CryoFacial in St. Louis puts the photos, what our clients say and the booking link in one place.
Call (314) 301-9012, or book an intro visit. It takes about half an hour, and if a CryoFacial is not the right fit for your goals, we will say so.
