How Many Sessions Will You Need?

How Many CryoSculpting Sessions Do You Need

CryoSculpting2 September 20263 min read

Most people notice a clear difference somewhere between three and eight CryoSculpting sessions. The area, how much fat is in it, and how fast your body clears the treated cells decide where you land inside that range.

Nobody gets a number from us over the phone. You get one at the intro visit, after we have looked at the area. Here is how we arrive at it.

Why is it a range and not one number?

Each session breaks down a portion of the fat cells in the treated area. Your body then clears them out over the following weeks. A thin layer on the upper arms needs fewer passes than a lower belly that has been there for ten years.

Bodies clear at different speeds too. Two people with the same area and the same starting point can finish two sessions apart.

What decides how many sessions you need?

Three things move the number more than anything else.

  • The area, and how much is in it. More to treat means more sessions, because each one works on a portion of the cells.
  • Your starting point. Someone close to their goal shape needs fewer sessions than someone further from it.
  • Your weight during the course. If it goes up while you are coming in, the cells left in the area grow, and that hides the change.

What will you notice, and when?

Nothing on the day. You leave a session looking the same as you arrived, because your body has not started clearing the cells yet.

Clothes usually tell you first, a few weeks in. Sharon Abel wrote this after her first session on her upper arms. “After one session, my arms already feel tighter and those sleeveless tops aren’t as intimidating.”

Mary Brown was four sessions in when she wrote that she had “lost 3 inches off my waist and my pants fit better”.

How do we track it?

We take progress photos from the same spot, with the same lighting, at set points in your plan. Gradual change is hard to see in a mirror you look in every day. A photo from week one next to a photo from week six is not.

Bring the pair of jeans that does not fit. Plenty of people do, and it is a better measure than anything we own.

What a course looks like in Creve Coeur

A session for one area takes about 30 minutes. Covering two or three areas in one visit takes 30 to 60 minutes. There is no downtime, so people drive back to work in Clayton or Chesterfield straight after.

Most plans pair the cold with another treatment. Cold for the fat, electromagnetic work for the muscle underneath, and compression to help your body clear everything out. Each does a different job, and stacking them gets further than repeating one.

What to do next

Book an intro visit, which takes about half an hour. We look at the area, tell you whether cold is the right tool for it, and give you a session count with the reasons attached. If it is not the right tool, you hear that instead.

Our page on CryoSculpting in St. Louis covers the areas we treat, what a session feels like, and what it will not do.

Call (314) 301-9012 or book an intro visit. We are on Old Olive Street Road, just off Olive at I-270, with parking outside the door.

It takes about half an hour, and you leave with a plan built around your goals. If this is not the right thing for those goals, we will say so.
